I recently found this place on google by typing in "buy gold". It was the closet place to me so I decided to enter and see what they were offering. I was a little skeptical at first because people always seem to try and rob you or not give you a fair deal. I was extremely pleased after my entire experience there. My jewelry buyer Timothy was extremely friendly answered any question I had and was very fair in his price. I was so happy I didn't need to go shop around, I sold one chain and received almost $700.00. The customer service was by far the best I've encountered in a while. Needless to say the people were good, the service was accurate, and I was more than pleased.
Got same day appointment at a very convenient time. I had spoken to 3 different men on the phone throughout the day who were all nice, professional and cordial. Tony was very helpful as I sold my silver and gold. He answered all of my questions and helped me to have an informed decision. I was super pleased with the outcome and would return there again. My mother, Sirwart, had some gold jewelry to sell and I had a good experience here before so I dropped her off on my way to work. They were very kind and helpful, and gave her a great price compared to the other places she had tried. The sales associate, Chris, was kind enough to walk her all the way to the trolley station when she was done. He even made sure she got on the correct trolley before he left--way to go above and beyond with customer service! Thank you!!

Wow, what a great EASY experience. I was nervous about trying to sell my old chains and gold items that I haven't worn in 20 years but after seeing all the hype on the news about gold prices, I figured why not? I googled "San Diego gold buyers" and SD Jewelry Buyers kept coming up as the best on all the reviews I read. I emailed them from their website and got a reply right away and we set an appointment for that afternoon. Robert sent me directions and I found the store easily. Tony was expecting me and we sat down, he weighed my little bag of gold and I walked out with over $900! I took some old jewelry into the store to see what it was worth. First of all, I called to get directions and they informed me about a free parking area across the street that was very convenient. Once I arrived, I was greeted in a friendly manner and was brought into the weighing room. The worker explained the process thoroughly and answered all questions about the process since this was my first time selling gold. He showed me online what gold was at todays value and then informed me about the percentage I would receive and how they came to that number. The process was extremely easy and I felt well informed. The money I received was extremely fair and the entire process only took 15 minutes. I am very pleased and will return again.
This was my first time selling my old jewelry. I was very surprised. I'd only heard about this place on Yelp when I researched places to go. Upon arriving, I was immediately struck by the elegant decor, and the professional atmosphere. It felt very high end. The people working there were pleasant and personable. I was a walk-in, but was treated like a regular customer. I came in with my children - that was not a problem. I feel that the return on my jewelry was very fair. I was pleasantly surprised, and I highly recommend this place to my closest friends and family. I myself plan on shopping their other store which I peeked in on my way back to my car. It reminds me of a New York boutique.
The atmosphere was very friendly, the staff were exceedingly pleasant, leading this to be an overall very positive experience. This was my first time selling old jewelry, and I was very dubious about how it would go. The entire experience from start to finish (and I was a walk-in) was a pleasure. I highly recommend San Diego Jewelry Buyers as a business to deal with. I will definitely be a return customer - they have a luxury goods (handbags, shoes, etc) down a couple doors that also buys and sells items.
What a great place to do business, I found them online, then called an set up an appointment. Robert set me up with free parking and directions, (he was very nice). They sat me down in a private buying room, tested my gold, answered my questions without talking down to me and gave me a cash offer. They were extremely nice and professional! I am looking forward to going back! I sold about $500 worth of gold to them. I went to two other places and they offered about half of what I got @ SDJB. Plus SDJB gave me two free massage certificates, absolutely free, just to say thank you! Todd, Tony, Robert and Alfredo were all great. They really have a great team there, they treated me with respect and honesty. Don't waste your time anywhere else.
By far the best experience by a mile. After inheriting some jewelry and coins, I decided that I wanted to sell it for cash. I shopped the items around to 3 different jelewlry buyers before I found SDJB. SDJB was safe, quick and gave me the most money for my things. I was so impressed. I didn't know what to expect when going there to sell some old jewelry. The place was GREAT! They were nice and made me feel so comfortable. They took all my stuff and paid cash. They also gave me a certificate for a free 1 hour Massage! I love this place! Defiantly go there if you have old jewelry to sell.

I've got a wedding coming up and trying to save every penny possible. If you're scared of dealing with parking downtown, don't worry, you get a free parking spot right across the street if you book an appointment. Going in, I didn't know what to expect since I haven't been to a place like this before. The store is small but clean and nice. The security guard always greets everyone on the way in. The staff is really professional and nice as well. They inspected all my jewelry to check if it's real, calculated everything according to the day's silver and gold cost legitimately. They don't rip you off here! I was AMAZED at what the amount of cash I got in return!! I recommend cleaning out your jewelry of any other brand name items for some real cash if you're struggling or just need a little extra cash. I found SDJB online. Called, made an appointment. When I arrived for my appointment I was surprised by the staff. Everyone was nice and professional, every staff member I got to talk to went out of their way to help me. The place was very secure and appraisers are fully trained and educated. I am glad that I chose SDJB, I would recommend them to all my friends!
If you are looking to sell jewelery or gold I would highly recommend this place. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and make you feel comfortable while there. Also they will make time for you whenever you would like to come in which is great because they work with your schedule. They are number one in San Diego for a reason people. When I first spoke with Robert at San Diego Jewelers I was reluctant to sell my grandmother"s silver. He spent a lot of time talking to me about what was really important in respect to keeping things that were not particularly useful to me at the time. He explained how they give a great price for silver and gold and also shared with me some stories of others that were in the same predicament. If Robert hadn't been sensitive to my concerns I would have lost my car. He was very patient when I couldn't find the place and met me at the parking lot. Everyone was kind and the experience made me want to sell more!

My neice and I went here on a whim and it was so fun! We called the store and made an appt to come in two hours later. The facility was very nice inside and Tony and Robert and the security guy were all great! They treated us with respect and most of all treated us like we mattered. This was my first experience with taking gold and jewelry to anyone. I researched different companies on Yelp and liked the reviews for San Diego Jewelry Buyers. They were exactly like the reviews I had read. Everything was explained, all questions answered, nothing hidden, and best of all absolutely no pressure to sell to them. I would recommend them to anyone! I have since been back and plan to visit them again.
This was my second visit to San Diego Jewelry Buyers and it was still the same great service and still the highest payout; I tried shopping around and was disappointed with the other people I called; when I was able to get a quote over the phone it was way lower than SDJB. I should have gone straight to SDJB and not wasted my time with the other guys; plus I sold over $400 worth of old jewelry and they gave me 2 free massage certificates! I not only recommend SDJB, but I recommend calling them first!
The staff were very honest, and told us that (technically) it would be possible to get a better price if we happened to find a silverware collector with a particular interest in our piece, but simply that it's a very small likelihood. We weren't pressured to sell at all, but chose to because we trusted the staff's offer and knowledge. My grandmother was very happy with the figure too, just in time for Christmas. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends, and do business with them in future. Extra perks that came with the sale, besides the wad of cash: we were offered a free Thai Massage for two people! These happened to be the best massages that both my father and I have ever had!
I went to the store and was impressed because I was immediately greeted by a guard. I felt that the store was safe and once inside the store was very clean. Which was good since I had my 3 month old baby with me. Had it looked sketchy I never would have gone inside. I was told a buyer would be with me shortly. Maybe 5 minutes later a buyer approached me and we all went into a little appraising room. The buyer was quick and efficient. He promptly offered me a great sum for my gold. I accepted on the spot. As I was getting my cash the owner greeted me. He gave me a certificate for a free massage and told me if I referred a friend I would get 50 bucks mailed to me! I feel like he understand the power of good customer service and referrals. In no way did I feel creeped out or like a loser for selling my jewelry. I felt like it was a very classy place and I was treated with great service. The entire staff was helpful, friendly, and honest. I feel I got a fair price for all of my jewelry and was more than satisfied with the entire experience. I highly recommend SDJB. I went home and told my husband about my experience. He was so excited and went digging up more old jewelry for me to bring in. I will be going back this week!
I spoke with Robert on the phone while making an appointment to have some gold looked at, although he didn't give me the best price per gram on the phone, I liked him better than anyone else I had talked to, and he told me they give a 'low ball' price on the phone so no one is disappointed. When I met with Todd the next day, he was very professional, a really nice guy, and he met the price that was the highest I had been quoted the day before. I think SDJB is very fair, and a pleasure to do business with!
I found SDJB early this year online. I had a lot of broken jewelry and couldn't decide if I wanted to melt it down and have something made or just sell it, I decided to sell it. I'm glad I went to SDJB I was a little nervous at first but once I got to SDJB everyone made me feel very welcomed. I was so pleased I went back just last week and sold some earrings that I hadn't worn in over 5 years, now I'm off to find new earrings with the money from the old earrings. From beginning to end it was great customer service. They have two free parking spots for customers, but if they were taken (which they were) they said they would pay for your parking (which they did). They had a security gate upon entry which made me feel very secure. It really legitimized the business. There was also a security guard who wasn't over weight or ancient so that was also a plus. The rooms however were a little dull and lacked a friendly feel but they made up for it with their customer service. The whole process was quick. The jewelry appraiser was swift but took his time in explaining everything he was doing and basically walked me through the whole process. After all was said and done, we decided on which pieces I was going to sell and the appraiser pointed into the direction of the payout office. I had to sign some legal documents, so if you were trying to get away with a fake name and a handshake deal, this is not the place. I also left my thumbprint to legitimize the deal. They pay out was in cash immediately following. I was so pleased with the service that I even plan on returning.

I was greeted immediately asked to sign in and walked away with cash in hand for what I felt was a fair deal. Most places won't give you a real quote over the phone, saying they need to see the items in person, but these guys are no BS and will answer any questions you may have before you step in the door. It's also super cool that they have free parking in the lot across the street, and if their reserved spaces are taken, they'll actually have your car valeted! Customer service all the way with these guys! Next time I have anything I want to get rid of, I'll definitely be visiting them again. And I'll absolutely recommend them to anyone who asks.
Like others, I found San Diego Jewelry Buyers after an online search. I had some misc. jewelry and some gold coins to sell. I had done my research and knew how much I expected to get. They were right on the mark! I was very pleased with the staff at SDJB. Everyone was very professional and courteous. I especially appreciated the reserved parking spot in the lot across the street. Just 30 min. before, another jeweler in RB, (who shall remain nameless), offered me only $250 for the whole bracelet with the diamonds in it!!). In what turned out to be a very foolish move, I got cold feet at the last second and decided to wait till gold went up a little higher. (That turned out to be a big mistake!) They were super understanding, though and I told them I'd be back for sure. Well, the day they made that offer, gold had closed at $1818.00, after being much higher of course. I called them this week and asked what I could get for the same bracelet, now that the price had dropped to $1780.00, and they told me I could still get at least $330, maybe even the $340. I was so happy! So I was on my way down to SDJB, when I realized I didn't have enough gas to make it...and had no $ to buy some, and was really bummed. At the last second I went to yet another store in my area, and they offered me $288.00 for the very same piece! When I told them I was offered $330 at least for it that afternoon and possibly $340, they said, "That is a phenomenal price." Unfortunately, I had to have some cash right away to pay a bill, (and get some gas!), so I talked them up to $315.00 and sold it to them. Was sooo sorry that I didn't sell to SDJB in the first place!! (Am glad I did sell on 9/21, given the record breaking nose dive gold took on 9/22 & 23rd!)
So I am not speaking from emotions, I am simply stating facts! Also, I recommend all my family and friends to them! Gold had just hit $1760 an ounce so I decided to see if I could sell some of my jewelry that had been collecting dust in my jewelry box for years. I wasn't even sure any of it was real gold. My collection consisted of 3 broken necklaces, 4 pairs of ear rings from the 80s and one ring that I found on the street 10 years ago. Like I said, junk. At first I was nervous because I had never been to a place that bought gold that wasn't an actual jewelry store. I was even more intimidated when I showed up and had to be buzzed in by a guard. But immediately I was eased when I found the guard to be super friendly as sociable. While I waited for the buyers, Lily tested my gold jewelry in front of me to see if it was really gold and of what percent. One of my broken necklaces turned out to be metal (as determined by the magnet test) but the rest of my junk was 14k gold (woo hoo!) I was brought in to meet Todd, one of the buyers who also was super friendly. He weighed my junk, I mean gold, and gave me an estimate on how much it was worth. While it seemed like a lot, I had heard of one other place that was itself a refinery and might be able to offer more. So instead of accepting Todd's kind offer, I apologized for wasting his time and said I'd like to get other bids for my gold. He was unbelievably nice about it and kindly basically said "ok, but you probably wont do better." No hard sell, no guilt ploys, just a thanks for coming in. My next stop was a refinery. I walked in the door, filled out a form and was told that unless I had a lot of gold to sell, they weren't buying. Oops!! Oh well, I figured, I'll just go to another place and sell it for the same as San Diego Jewelry Buyers. So I went into another shop buying gold. I told them that it had already been tested and weighed and that SDJB had offered me X for it. The buyer went to his calculator and said, "wow, they offered you that?". He couldn't even match it. Then on to the next place...... again a "wow, they offered you that?" and not even a MATCH price. Finally I just started calling places saying " I have this much 14K gold, can you give me X for it." The closest I came was about $150 dollars LESS than what SDJB offered. And so it was that I had to go back to SDJB to eat humble pie. I showed up the next day and was again buzzed in by the guard. He remembered me but instead of teasing me about being back, he was just his kind and sociable self. As a I waited I over heard another person selling gold. The buyer was saying something like" you should really keep that piece, it's beautiful and worth more than it's weight as scrap gold." What?? They didn't rip them off? Honest people?? Todd was just about to go to lunch when he saw me waiting. He said, "welcome back." I told him that he was right and that I was back to sell him my gold. No I told you so, no I'm sorry, that offer was good only for that day, only an "I'm glad you came back." He didn't even retest my bag of gold, just brought be to another room and cashed me out. I was there for maybe 5 minutes. Bottom line is that I've done all of your hard work for you. If you are looking for nice, honest people who will give you truly the best deal for your gold, you really should go to San Diego Jewelry Buyers. I am now $845 richer in exchange for by broken and outdated jewelry.
My mom actually found this place online and she talked me into going with her to look at the purses. The staff was really great; they treated us with the utmost respect and no pressure to buy anything. My mom and I had a blast looking at all the purses and joking around with the people that work there. And the selection is awesome; it's seriously really hard to choose just one, especially with the prices. They sell the purses for way way lower then any place I have seen...and you would hardly even know that they are used. I mean C'mon ladies....who doesn't want a Louis Vuitton or a Coach purse? And to the gentlemen, this is the kind of gift that will win you major brownie points; she doesn't even have to know it's not totally brand new! And I have already gotten so many complements on my new pink Coach bag; it's so pretty and utterly clean. Not a mark on it so far! My mom went with a bigger Louis Vuitton and couldn't be happier with her purchase. She loves that damn thing more then she loves me! Honestly, I am planning a trip back here with a few girlfriends on my next payday because I think a Louie is in my near future and it's looking good!

I was always hesitant to go to the jewelry store and sell off my old gold that I don't use anymore. Because, I felt like those types of people are not trust worthy and always trying to screw you. However, I'm wrong...the people at San Diego Jewelry Buyers are a very professional gemologists and very honest. I was going downtown for the night and have passed by San Diego Jewelry Buyers multiple times but haven't needed their services. I had one piece of jewelry that I've been holding off on getting a loan on, my wedding ring. I'm not married anymore but it holds sentimental value (after all I wore it for 13 years). I went into the shop at around 8pm to be met with a smile by Kameron. The friendly and professional service he provided was unmatched by any other pawn shops/jewelry buyers I've dealt with in the last 20 years. I can honestly say if you want the most money, courteous and professional service by experts, there is not a better place in SD than San Diego Jewelry Buyers.
Sold them some scrap silver - got a quote over the phone which was about 80% of the spot price, lived up to the quote, quick, efficient, appeared honest. Got cash in my hand in less than 15 minutes. After a bad experience with another outfit in North County that buys silver, I was expecting the worst, but this was MUCH easier and quicker than I expected.
My mother was in town for a visit and said she had a pair of earrings to pawn for some vacation spending cash. I searched Yelp and San Diego Jewelry Buyers popped up with some great reviews. I figured it couldn't hurt to gather up some of my broken and old, unused stuff too. Hey, $20 can fill up 1/2 my gas tank, after all. I think the stars aligned for us or something because I found a spot right out front on a Saturday afternoon. We went in and were immediately greeted and told that all buyers were busy but would be with us shortly. They even offered us some water. Maybe 3 minutes later Angela approached us and we all went into a little appraising room. She asked if we had done this before and after we said no, she explained that they buy at the base value of the gold and then sell it all in bulk to their buyer who melts it down. In other words, it's worth a whole lot less than you paid for it, so don't get sticker shock when I give you the value. My mom paid $900 for her earrings and before we left the house she said she'd be happy with $350 and wouldn't take less than $200, so we were both surprised to hear Angela tell us she'd give us $300. Right on the mark. Incidentally, my mom got an offer of $210 at her local pawn store on the east coast just 5 days before. I guess California inflation worked in her favor! Now for my stuff. I saw it as a worthless pile of junk and was almost too embarrassed to even open the case. I think Angela sensed it and told me that nearly all metal jewelry has some value (even silver) so she'd be happy to take a look. I had over $300 worth of gold! Wow. So happy. The check out process was easy and quick after we both agreed on the money part. I LOVE this shop. The whole experience was better than I ever expected it to be! I plan on another jewelry sweep of my house so I can give them my business again.
We called and went to like 4 places everywhere was rude and offered barley anything because it was missing a stone finally we ended up here and they where nice and offered exactly what we where. Looking for and said they are going to repair the ring instead of melting it which is great that my ring will get a new home. :)
A Very comfortable transaction considering I was out of my element. The staff bent over backwards to give five star customer service. They sensed my ill ease with turning over an expensive item to a shop 900 miles from me. They paid the shipping and the turn-around could not have been faster. They gave me an up-to-the-minute value for my sterling and deposited it in my bank account post haste. I was THRILLED, and would absolutely do business again.
My Girlfriend wanted to sell some old jewelry so we went to SDJB based on Yelp reviews. Could not have been more pleased. I've had quite a bit of experience with jewelers in the past and most have a very shady reputation. The experience was exactly like every 5 star Yelp review said. I had a good idea of what most Jewelers would have offered and they offered a very fair price, no haggling needed. They explained our options and gave no pressure. We walked out within 20 minutes feeling like it was a win win for all. As long as San Diego Jewelry Buyers are around I'm not going to any other jeweler.
P.S. They also have high end purses for sale that are pre-owned but will make a great gift for my mom or sister. Come to think of it Mother's Day is coming up.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone selling jewelry, plus they have a fabulous selection of designer handbags.
I had a wonderful experience at SDJB. I had some gold and silver scrap jewelry and didn't know what to do with it. I started looking online and this place looked like the most reputable. When I got there, I was treated very nicely and with respect. It has a great atmosphere, it's very professional and very nice people. I would recommend this to anyone.
This place was awesome. The employees were as friendly and patient as possible. I made it through there in thirty minutes and came out with way more cash then I had expected. I would definately recommend coming here if you any extra jewelry. They were super great with me and did a great job explaining how much I was to be paid. GREAT employees, great deals! 5 stars most definitely.
Well I walked in today after searching for this pawn shop online. What got me by surprise was the big metal security door. Well the guy checked the chain for me on the spot; he tested it out and weigh the chain. He told me upfront he takes 15% commission. He said he could do 19 dollars a gram which turned out to be $215 (yay!) for me out the door. Glad to see not everyone is as greedy. Will tell my friends and family about this place.
Had a great experience at San Diego Jewelry Buyers. I don't know a lot about jewelry, but I do know that the price of gold has soared recently and that people are buying it like crazy. Since I had a bunch of jewelry lying around that I never wear, I decided to go ahead and see what I could get for it. I grabbed everything that looked like it could contain gold, googled "buy gold San Diego" and the first place that popped up was SDJB. I noticed that they also bought luxury handbags and accessories, so I gathered up a couple pairs of high-end shoes and a purse I have been trying to get rid of, gave them a call, and headed down there. After I was buzzed in, I was greeted with a smile and a handshake. I was led into a small office and dumped my treasure onto a black felt tray. They then began to sort through piece by piece, separating by karat. Meanwhile, another gentleman collected my luxury goods and took them to the person who approved such purchases. As it turned out, everything I brought in contained some amount of gold, from 14-22 karat. Now, they could have ripped me off if they wanted to, because even though I did a little research beforehand and knew the current rate of gold, I had no idea if what I had actually contained gold and/or how much (with the exception of one necklace). I was offered almost $1000 for everything (around 7 items), minus a white gold and diamond ring which they said they could buy for $300, but that if I wanted to try to sell it myself, I could probably get up to $600. When it came to my luxury goods, they weren't willing to buy them off me for what I was comfortable selling them at, but they offered to put them on consignment and let me set the prices. Within two weeks they had sold a pair of Fendi boots for the price I set, and they only took 20% (Buffalo Exchange demands 50%). So, overall I made roughly $1300 on stuff I never used and that was collecting dust. The entire staff was knowledgeable, friendly, down-to-earth and honest. I feel I got a fair price for all of my jewelry and was more than satisfied with the entire experience. I highly, highly recommend SDJB.
The associates are awesome as well they have the best personality ever in the world and make you feel more than just welcome, but as a frequent flyer they make you feel like family also.....and ladies if you are looking for a great purse but not at full price then WOW take a look at their selection at least. I am still one to hopefully get my hands on a LV one of these days LOL. I would so go back over and over ....if I had that much to sale LOL.
This place is amazing. I first heard of this place thru the internet. I always do research on companies before I shop. I Googled and read all the reviews it had. I had seen it was rated 5 stars and how the costumer ramped about how they took in their old jewelry and got lots of money back. Well I decided to give it a try since I had some really old jewelry from the 80's that of course are out of style and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing anymore... lol...Well I took them and I also took some old jewelry that was broken and one earring which had lost its pair. They got the jewelry and analyzed it, weight it, and made their calculations and I really honestly got 2x more than I was wanting to leave that place with. I must say I am a happy camper and will definitely use them again in the future. Oh they also have lots of nice designer purses there which I was REALLY tempted to buy with the money I got back from the gold but I felt guilty to buy them right that second. Maybe in the future when I have more disposable income I'll go back and buy something :)) The whole process took no more than 30 mins and I got paid in cash.
Thank you Carl for the cash today! I borrowed money from San Diego Jewelry Buyers on a diamond bracelet that I plan to get back in a couple months when I get my finances sorted. I was nervous but Carl made everything easy, and he explained exactly why I was getting the price they were offering. Very cool.
