How your gold is actually priced

Weight and purity establish how much gold a piece contains; the current market gives that metal a reference value. We test the karat and weigh the piece in front of you. Stones and non-gold parts are assessed separately. Spot-based metal value is not a guaranteed purchase offer: resale potential and the item itself also matter.

Does the spot price change what I get?

The gold and a valid government-issued photo ID. California law requires ID from anyone selling to a licensed buyer, so there are no exceptions. Nothing else needs preparing.
