What we look at on a Oris

Oris has been in Hölstein since 1904 and is independent, which is unusual at its price point. It makes mechanical watches only, and the Aquis dive line and the Big Crown pilot watches are what most people bring us. These are watches bought to be worn rather than stored, so condition varies more than on brands that live in safes.

Questions people ask first

Is an Oris worth selling, or should I keep it?

That depends on whether you wear it. Oris holds value less aggressively than the big Swiss names, so it is usually a better watch to keep and enjoy than to trade. If it is sitting unworn, bring it in and we will tell you honestly what it is worth.

Do you buy Oris with box and papers missing?

Yes. They help, particularly on limited editions, but they are not a requirement.

What about the bronze Aquis models?

We buy them. Bronze patinas by design and that is expected rather than damage, so do not attempt to polish it back before bringing it in.
